How to move detail view to snap to line drawn in layout?

I have a detail view and wish to move the view’s contents so that the centre of the item snaps to a datum line drawn in layout view, (detail view not active).
How is this done ?

Hi @Steve1
If I understand the question right, simply select the detail frame in layout view and use Osnaps to align the detail to your datum line.
