How to make lines perpendicular on populate 3d?

Urchin man.gh (15.5 KB)

Hello I know i havent connected my populate 3D component since i used divide surface instead, but I was wondering how i could create perpendicular lines from the populate 3D component onto the sphere like how i did on the divide surface? I tried with evaluate surface but didn’t know how to work the UV component to make it perpendicular to the sphere. Thank you!

Populate Geometry, not 3D?

Use surface closest point (“normal”). Away from my computer so can’t do more now.

In order to use populate Geometry, you need to extract normals.
Populate geo > surface closest point > eval surface > then use points and normal for Line SDL

By the way, pop geo is random points while your image looks like a “grid” so you might want divide surface instead?

Lol yes, sorry i typed this really quickly

I don’t have Pufferfish and didn’t take as much time as usual making this tidy…

Considering the time required to answer forum questions, the least you can do is take enough time to type your question VERY CLEARLY :bangbang: Common courtesy, eh?

This was it, I recommend pufferfish, its not too bad, I just don’t know how to use UV setting but im learning about it and its starting to make sense to me! thanks again…

yes I was rushing to class. forgot the time.

Nothing against Pufferfish but I avoid plugins as much as possible and recommend you do too.
