How to loft 2 curves along a path? Not as simple as you'd think!

Hi all Rhino Gurus,

I have a simple yet very complicated issue to resolve in Rhino, or so I believe.

I have 2 different curve profiles at each end of a path. I want to loft the smaller circle to the larger circle along the path but it’s proving to be a big issue trying to do so.

I’ve tried lofting the circles together, which works but the shape is just straight tube.

I’ve tried Sweep 1, which only allows me to select and use one circle to follow the path. However, the shape seems to detach in the bending area.

I’ve tried sweep 2 but it didn’t work since i would need 2 rail paths.

Any idea? thanks!!!

With Sweep 1, you can select both circles, and enable “Untrimmed miters” in the dialogue box.

Also possible with sweep1

you miss-understood sweep1.
in your case the rail will be the long cyan curve - it is only possible to select one rail.
the shape / cross curves will be the circles - it is possible to select multiple shapes

rail / shape are similar to gibs profile-making

Yes, you’re right! I’ve misunderstood Sweep 1. I selected the sweep shape first and then the rail path. Thanks for clarifying
