How to ignore the information on the back of objects when selecting!

Options > Modeling Aids
Is “Snap to occluded objects” checked?
Occluded means not visible because its behind another object.

When I’m editing an object in Rhino, I often accidentally select points, edges, or faces on the back side of the same object. How can I prevent Rhino from selecting components on the back side?

In Options > Modeling Aids un-check “Snap to occluded objects”.

That option doesn’t work for me. Right now, I’m using clipping planes as a workaround to ignore the back side.

@GFC that is not normal behavior. pls run _SystemInfo in Rhino and post back the results.

additionally, run _Reset, and hit the ‘save settings for support’ and send the resulting file for inspection.
I suspect that the display mode you are using has issues, since I recall seeing this before.
