How to flow picture plane on doubly curved solid

Hi! All,

I am trying to flow picture planes of sculptures on the pendentives. The surface where picture planes are to be flown is doubly curved. I tried splitting the image of the sculpture in two and then individually flow on the corresponding half of the surfaces, but that still don’t work. I also tried to do “Unrollsrf” on the doubly curved surface first, but I can’t. Obviously can’t just 3d model the sculpture, so If anyone would know a way to get the picture of the sculpture up the curved surface, it would be

a great deal! Thank you!
capture_ how do you flow the image on the pendantive

I don’t know if I understood correctly, shouldn’t you use "UV Editor " to place image on corners?

Thank you so much for helping Adn_Kocc, and thank you for the suggestion! I am trying to model according to the existing conditions in Gen. Grant’s Tomb. Please kindly see below for an image of the interior, and the link to the pendentive 3d model. I don’t know if the suggested command could work on this.(but thank you so much!)

Hello- is this the surface you are shooting for?

Yes. Thank you!

OK… so, in your file the surface that I take to be the drum for the dome is not circular - I do not know if that is intentional but it makes life a little more difficult. I assumed it was meant to be be round/spherical and that the bits you want to texture are parts of a sphere - I do not know if that is right or not.
If so, then I would make the surface from a sphere, and then use the UVEditor to manipulate the mapping. Which is a job in itself here.

Thank you so much! Pascal! Problem solved.

Hi! Pascal. Sorry. So I would like to put on different picture planes for each pendentive, but every time I put in a new image file in, all 4 surfaces change source mappings. I try to remake the mapping according to your work but to no avail. ( I don’t know if I can copy the texture mapping from your work? I some how could not recreate that) Please help! Thank you.

Hello - make four materials - identical but with different images - one for each part. Assuming the images are the taken in the ‘same’ way ( a big assumption) then the mapping should still work on copies of the mapped part, but I would not be surprised if they had to be adjusted to account for slightly different photos.
Does that help at all or am I missing the point of the question?

-Pascal

Let me try that! Thank you! Pascal!

Hi! Pascal. Yes. it worked! Thank you.
