When constructing a polyline in Ortho mode, guides appear along the axes in white. How can I turn it off?
When Ortho is disabled, naturally it is not displayed
Yes, I have been meaning to post about this as well but keep forgetting. I did not find a way to turn this off and it’s very annoying if you have your ortho set to something like 30°
They are called Hash Marks and it’s a new feature in Rhino 8. I haven’t figured out how to turn them off, I will contact support and repost when they respond.
Hello- thanks, I added
RH-80798 Ortho hash marks - setting to turn them off
-Pascal
I would like to be able to turn off ortho hash marks before V9. Definitely not a high priority item but they are annoying.
In the future any new features should have the ability to be turned off on day of introduction.
I had the same experience but after a while I found them really useful. I have my ortho set to 15 degrees (I can easily get 30, 45 and 90 degrees) and while working from perspective view it gets a bit confusing, but these marks helps a lot. Actually I was about to request to add additional detail to easily spot quadrants (thicker line maybe) - 0, 90, 180 degrees (and then I can turn the crosshairs off !)
Thanks for the tip. So indeed, through the “OrthoAngle 0” command, you can turn off the display or set your own values that are necessary for snapping at a certain angle.
