How does one alter dimensions attributes then save as a new name?

HJi,
V5
open dimension called text 0.1inch high
alter text height to 0.08 and alter name to 0.08inch high, hit ok, open properties and the 0.1inch high dimension that was available has gone. It now has 0.08inch high listed.

I wish to alter some values and save as a new name.

Steve

Hello - I can only guess at what you’re trying to say here.

I needed a new dimension style with smaller text height so took my existing one in properties called 0.1inch high, altered the value for text height to 0.08inch, altered the name in the window above the various values to 0.08inch hit ok, and got my new choice, but losing the existing 0.1inch in doing so.

How does one create a new dimension option using an existing one as a basis, altering a few values ?
(without destroying choices in my dimension styles list I already had and use)

Steve -

Run DocumentProperties. Expand Annotation and highlight Dimensions.
Click the New… button on the right in that dialog box.
In the New Dimension Style dialog box, provide a name and select a style to copy settings from.

Hi Wim, Thanks that does it.
slight change to steps…

Run DocumentProperties . Expand Annotation and highlight Dimensions .
Click the New button on the right in that dialog box.
In the New Dimension Style dialog box, select a style to copy settings from., then provide a name

I gave a name then selected style and the name changed to the style !
