How do I migrate a Rhino8 container to Rhino9?

When I try to export a container from Rhino8 to 9, all kinds of things happen that I do not understand, Rhino crashes multiple times (8 and 9), and the only result Iget is a list of toolbars in the menu of containers ?? with old names and buttons I have not seen for years. In Wip when click on the Windows meu//toolbars I get a window with a list of ruis ?? and Rhino freezes after selecting a rui.

When I drag a .rhc file into 9 that I exported from 8 I get a container/toolbar (?) that looks like this

It is a combination of not really understanding the UI of 8 and the new one in 9, crashes and no clear documantation of what is stored where and the names. A container on my screen does not show it’s container name and looks like a toolbar, a toolbar is named in a list of containers, I have to choose libraries (?).
I am completely lost here.

Hi Erik, @CallumSykes is doing a much needed rework of the toolbars while maintaining compatibility with legacy version. Have you tried OptionsMigrate command for moving from 8 to 9?

What is your WIP version exactly?

I’ve just started getting into these workflows myself and will add a rhc drag and drop test to try and reproduce.

Sorry @PodoTools I’m still working on the .rhc files and also your toolbars.

The fact you see those names_guids is a bug.

Ok. Must be a difficult job, but a renewal of thr complete UI is very welcome!

It certainly is, but with your bug and behaviour reports it gets a little easier :slight_smile:
