I need to add a surface to my project in Rhino and I’m struggling to create a clean one. I’ve tried using various tools, such as boundary curves and lofting along guide curves, but the surfaces always end up messy and unusable.
Does anyone have any tips or methods for creating a smooth, clean surface in this case? I would really appreciate any help you can offer.
Sorry, I totally forgot to add it, I added it now. I already tried cutting the surface from a not so edge one, but then it doesn’t really fit to the other surfaces.
I do think though you will need to work on the upper surface transition, as it’s a bit twisted. This will mean some adjustment to the leg upper surfaces or the upper surface of the glass frame
I would do it this way, even though it’s a little bit dirty and still having 0,05 degrees of deviation. I used 0,001 mm and 0,1 degree accuracy to match the “Sweep2rails” surface, which should be enough for exporting the model for CNC-milling. If you need even more accurate model, simply follow the instructions there and match with the desired precision.
I placed every object in its own layer arranged by the time of creation. The rest unnecessary geometry is hidden from the scene.
I used “Match surface” with the “On surface” option on the left edge, in order to match it to the target surface (hidden in a layer with the same name). For the right edge, I used the basic “Match surface” (with the “On surface” option turned off).
