How do I align faces on two non planar solids?

Basically i want the ball with the plate mounted to the base to sit flush with the end of the pipe. it needs to be rotated three dimensionally.

i could just align them individually on the same plane, but as you can see below, my pipes are already aligned where i need them to be:

I should have aligned the small globes before aligning the pipe, but i didnt think this would be so annoying to figure out.

any help/thoughts would be appreciated.

There are a few ways to do this.

The quickest is by using Orient. You can select both centers of the gray disc as first and second reference points and then two end points of the cylinder / pipe.
