All your top scores are close to 60 fps so it seems you have monitor syncronisation turned on. Maybe vertical syncronisation is on in your settings.

Hi Holo, I don’t understand - should I go to the Nvidia options and switch off monitor synchronization and vertical synchronization. Most I miss a better result for the GPU4 Shaded test.

I needed more cuda speed and memory so i plugged in a new Gtx-1060 6gb.
disabled vray and made a difference in the benchmark.
from 21711 to 33114.

Some counts like “Cube 4 tests” are impressive high, but other one like daily needed shaded mode are not so good. Strange mix.

which version of v-ray are you talking about?

because i am testing right now and vray 3.4 does not seem to be involved in the slowdown issue.

but there are many other plug ins that slow down rhino … ( t-spliines and vsr for sure)

It is both strange and not since his cpu is a core2quad with 2.4 GHz, probably an old Q6600 so that is limiting the shaded mode as it is highly cpu dependent.

Now on the other hand if you compare the cpu scores like “reduce mesh” to newer systems then you’ll see how little they have improved over a cpu from 2008 :expressionless:
And calculating technical display is actually 2x faster than the dual xeon shown above… go figure.

I would turn off those settings in the nvidia options and try holomark again, yes. I don’t know how it will affect scores that allready are below 60 hz (fps) though.

Right, that makes sense, and I see that your reduce mesh and calculate techincal display is slower than similar systems too. A complete shot in the dark can be to upgrade your BIOS as your motherboard can have a hard time with triple gpus and dual cpus at the same time.

BTW: Have you tweaked other nvidia settings too? Like 32xCSAA overrides etc? Those can be hard on systems too.

Can you boffins see any improvements to be made? I would really appreciate positive comment…

Weird that I got a higher CPU score than you with a 2700X. Have you enabled PBO at all? It actually could be due to memory bandwidth now that I think about it.

I’m pretty sure its a memory bandwidth issue. I did this on a shoe string. It’s a great CPU, stock cooler, cheap kit of CL14 3000mhz micron b die, and a used Titan Xp off of ebay.

I figured there was no point in doing the OC until I had a good AiO cooler, but I expect amazing things when I get around to it.

You’re spot on about the memory bandwidth limitation. Ryzen LOVES faster ram. You’ve got a X570 chipset, you should get the fastest ram you can afford and OC it.
