Hollow sphere

#1

I have a surface that is shaped like a sphere. I want to convert this to a sphere with a hollow inside with an escape hole for 3d printing.

I read some things on the forums how surfaces are not sphere but I am kinda lost.

What I have is
2 spheres with centers on the 0,0,0 origin. One has a diameter of 3cm. The other has a dimeter of 2.5 cm.

How do I

  1. Subtract the volume of the smaller sphere (surface) from the larger?
  2. Make a cylindrical hole in the outer sphere to the new empty area?

Best,

Boolean union the smaller sphere and the cylinder and then boolean difference that from the larger sphere, if I am understanding your intent correctly.
