Help with Visualising Grasshopper Script Evolution/Progress

Hi all,

I’m trying to record the development of a piece made in Grasshopper, aiming to visualise (screen-record in Rhino) how the geometry gets modified by Grasshopper to reach the final state. My current approach involves using ‘Custom Preview’, with then enabling specific components from start to finish to show how the geometry evolved. I’m stuck though, because as we all know, having a disabled component between the latest enabled one and the final ‘preview’ prevents the dataflow.

Has anyone dealt with a similar challenge or knows a workaround to ensure that the latest component is displayed despite disabled components thereafter? Or, is there a completely other strategy for visualising work progress?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

As a workaround you could take the different geometries from the different steps and merge them into a single list, the using a slider you can extract the n-th element from the list and connect that to the Custom Preview.

By moving the slider cursor you can see the evolution of the model (and it should be fast because everything is already computed).

Would something like this be useful?

So simple and yet so good. Thanks a lot!

I’m happy it helped!
