Help in creating an atrium in a parametric tower

Hi everyone,

I am trying to create a parametric tower with an atrium in the middle (I grouped the definition together as ‘Core Structure’). I managed to create the floor using Brep|Plane between the loft (outside facade) with my floor geometry, but I could not figure out how to create a hole on the floor (the difference between my floor and the core structure). May I ask all of your help on how I should solve this problem?

I have attached my .gh file for your reference.

Thank you very much for the help beforehand!

Cheers,

Geoffrey

Like this?

The atrium doesn’t “properly” intersect three of the fifty floors, but otherwise, this approach works:

P.S. @HS_Kim’s model fails on the same three floors. If those floors intersected as all the others do, the sorting by sum of edge lengths in my model wouldn’t be necessary.

Yes.

Thank you very much @HS_Kim!

Sounds good @Joseph_Oster. I will check it out.

Thank you very much for your help @Joseph_Oster!

Most of the time, you’ll probably get very dirty sections when you use “Brep(complex shape)/plane”
In this case, using “rebuild curve” for cleaning up your outside curves would help…
