Help - I can't access the Package Manager

Hello,

I’m having an issue with the Package Manager in my Rhino 8 Educational version. Whenever I try to open it to search for online packages, it fails to connect and shows this error:

Failed to fetch packages from source(s): "https://yak.rhino3d.com" An attempt was made to access a socket in a way that is prohibited by access permissions. (yak.rhino3d.com:443) Are you sure there's a package server/folder here?

My internet connection is working correctly for other applications. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem with my Rhino8 education version. Although there are posts about the same problem with older versions of Rhino, I don’t see a clear solution. I’ve already tried the firewall thing.

I hope someone has a solution for this. For now, I’m in the same boat as you.

Hi Julio -

That error message points to an issue with the firewall or an anti-virus application that is blocking communication with the server.
