Help Blending surfaces (wing root)

I’ve been trying to blend these two surfaces for a while and I could really use a hand. I’am a beginner and I have no clue how to do it or what I’m doing wrong.

I need to join these surfaces creating an “arch” as seen in the picture below. It is the wing root of an early jet.

I made a separate model to illustrate it:

It works when I blend the surfaces with position but with other that would allow me to create the arch such as tangency it simply doesn’t work. Any sort of help is greatly appreciated.

This has been asked/done many times on this forum. Maybe this thread helps.

To get that shape at the trailing edge your blendsrf needs to STOP at about the wing training edge, then the top and bottom blends need to be extended back along the surface (like with Sweep1) so they can be trimmed off. My Hercules tutorial shows one attempt at an approach like this. I suppose today I might try making a dummy wing surface to blend with that extends back further…eh but you still have to decide how to deal with the very end of the wing fillet.

Hi @JimCarruthers

Jim you’re awesome thanks for your generosity and knowledge and for sharing your incredible tutorials for free. Can’t wait to work through them this is a huge benefit for Rhino users.

Thank you, I will take a look at it

Thanks for the help, I will definitely watch your tutorial. I´ve been doing plastic scale models for a few years and I just got into 3d modelling. Tutorials like those really help me out. Cheers!
