Helmet Surfacing Toolkit V0.95

Introducing a Parametric Helmet Shape Toolkit

Developing a toolkit for parametric helmet design using Rhino3D, Grasshopper, Processing, OSCPilot, and other tools. This system allows for streamlined design processes and innovative approaches to creating helmet surfaces and building in context with functionality.

Key Features:

  • Rhino3D: Core 3D modeling software
  • Grasshopper: Visual programming for parametric design
  • XNurbs: Surfacing
  • Processing: Creative coding platform for buffering OSC messages and handling file saving and loading functions.
  • OSCPilot: Advanced control interface for live applications
  • Additional Tools: Integrated to enhance the design process

Video Overview:
We have created a video demonstrating the parametric shape generation of helmets, compressing 25 minutes of work into a 2.5-minute overview. This showcases how these tools can be integrated for advanced CAS applications.

Seeking feedback from designers and producers to push the refining of this toolkit to better meet industry needs. If you have feature requests, feedback, or ideas for demos, love to hear from you.

Thank you for your interest and feedback.

Hi

I think your workflow would enhance my hull-design tools. Would love to hear more and perhaps colaborate?

Phil, certainly! Let’s have a conversation on how this kind of approach can fit with marine design parametrics and Grasshopper.
