Having issue deploying Rhino 8 template file to users

As the title states, I am trying to deploy rhino 8 to users and have the company template deploy and open automatically on each users machine. I have created a template, saved it in the default template folder for rhino and pointed rhino to the correct template file. On my personal machine, Rhino 8 opens the template correctly, with no issues.

I have already assured the the user has the same company Rhino template file in the same default template folder. Looking online, it seems i simply need to copy the settings-Scheme__Default.xml and accompanying folder to the each user’s setting folder (APPDATA\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0\settings) and then Rhino on their machines should recognize this and open the correct file.

This is not happening. All other settings, dark mode, window layout, etc. are being read from the settings file but the template file is not opening.

any suggestions?

Hello- the line in the xml file looks like this

<entry key="DefaultTemplateFile">C:\Users\**USER_NAME**\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0\Localization\en-US\Template Files\Small Objects - Millimeters.3dm</entry>

So, dependent on the user name.
