Hatch Worked in Previous Version of Rhino But Not Now

The attached file contains a closed curve that I created in some previous version of Rhino. The HATCH command worked with it back then. Now Rhino says there is a self intersecting curve.

I have included a hatch that was made from some previous version of Rhino.

What happens when you dig out olde files and try to work with them again.
