Gumball smooth/snappy visual reference

Hi folks,
Brand new to the forum, but with quite a bit of Rhino experience.

I was wondering whether I’m missing something in regards to the gumball smooth and snappy settings. Is there a visual indicator somewhere on screen that shows which of the 2 modes is active? I can’t see any changes on the gumball itself when I change mode.

I don’t there is anything highlighting the current mode.

I’ve been using the gumball heavily since its introduction and I have never used the smooth mode. I press alt when I don’t want it to snap.
