Gumball orientation and visibility

The new standard orientation for the gumballs seems to be object, instead of cplane. How can I make cplane standard again?

Also the menu ball is super hard to see when a dense mesh is selected, as can be seen in the screenshsots below:

Would be cool if it was more visible in those sitations.

click the menu ball and change the alignment type to your needs. or if it’s occluded, right click the gumball menu at the bottom of the screen (on PC) to access the settings.
