Ground plane substitute

Seeing as how the RDK GroundPlane function is not available for Mac Rhino yet, and that making a very large plane object makes the shadow quality very bad - or makes shadows entirely disappear - do you have a workaround?

I don’t use Mac but have found that for a waterplane (I do boats) I keep the plane maybe four time the size of the hull and then drop a radial gradient in the opacity channel to make the edges fade away. Keeps from having a hard horizon line and if you match it with the right HDRI environment you can get a pretty good result. Let me know how it works on the Mac.
