Just a small page, nothing fancy, I don’t understand why are you so excited about this?
Grokipedia in my eyes looks untrustworthy - what is it, who is it, who creates the articles, is the data correct? There is no info whatsoever on the front page, or links to such info.
It’s Elon Musk’s response to Wikipedia, which he believes shows left wing bias, and the pages are generated by AI. Not sure how scraping Wikipedia pages removes left wing bias, but it’s early days.
No route to communal page editing, AI has a history of invention and distortion. I’ll stick with Wikipedia.
But a timely reminder to donate to Wikipedia so we aren’t left without a trustworthy alternative to this Billionaire’s Shortbread.
I presume Elon, rejecting Wikipedia’s unreliability for Grok’s training.
Grokipedia 0.1 was released in a matter of days: a simpler, more child-friendly version, but with “Rhinoceros 3D” already fully indexed! It’s fantastic to have a new, high-quality competitor (with competition) in the realm of free knowledge. High-level intellectual rivalry drives progress; recall the beginnings of Wikipedia, the rise of YouTube, or the Rhino beta rebellion against Alias on modest PCs. This independent, entrepreneurial spirit, with strong ideals, is agile and audacious (audaz). Elon doesn’t get bogged down (procrastinating) in the narrative. The developers deserve recognition.
Will it achieve widespread success? That remains to be seen. For now: a resounding moral success in its narrative, which we can already read!
