I drew a 1.5m square grid and projected in unto a free form as I need it to be divided into 1.5 x1.5m panels; however after projecting, the grid dimensions are changing and the panel are therefore not equal in dimension.
I there a way to maintain the exact same size to have exact same panel size?

The short answer is NO in most cases unless your surface is from extrusion or part of a torus. Projection of a grid of a certain dimension does not guarantee it maintains the spaces on the projected surface (unless projected to a plane parallel to the grid).
