In Progress script, Anemone is only for animation the script will run without it.
I got another version with 2d list arrays and objects to store the data in and its even slower.

is this normal for a discrete algorithm?
Any tips on how to make this run faster would be really appreciated

I cant even get the file to run, it’s very heavy. One thing that will make it faster is switching to C#. @laurent_delrieu has a nice script here: [https://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/2d-reaction-diffusion-to-3d](https://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/2d-reaction-diffusion-to-3d)
