Grasshopper loading time

Hi,

Since upgrading to Rhino 8, I’ve noticed that Grasshopper takes much longer to load.

It seems that some plugins are now available through the Package Manager, and I suspect I may have accidentally installed some of them twice - once manually (from Food4Rhino) and again through the Package Manager.

Is there a way to see exactly which plugins are being loaded from the Libraries and Components folders, so I can verify whether I have duplicate installations?

Also, what would you consider a normal Grasshopper startup time on Rhino 8?

For duplicate files - you can check inside your Grasshopper Libraries and clean them up manually - although if I remember correctly, Grasshopper alerts you if it’s trying to load the same plugin twice and makes you select/delete one. Go to File > Special Folders - I’m sure you know how to use those folders if you use Food4Rhino. Are all your plugins, drivers and operating system updated?

If you want to see which plugins are set to load - In Gh: File > Preferences > Solver

You didn’t actually say how long it takes to load - nor do we know what specs your machine has - you should probably run SystemInfo in Rhino and post the output, that will make it easier for McNeel folks to diagnose your problem (assuming there is one)

Gh takes about 15-20 seconds to load here - I don’t have too many plugins

Some plugins can take longer if they require python for example and need to load things on first start. To troubleshoot its a process of elimination.

Thank you so much for taking the time to assist. Grasshopper loading time for me is 01:01:55, a bit over a minute. I believe that it was much faster in the past. I have tried to clean some plugins with the chat help; I must admit that AI advice is not the most accurate when it comes to Grasshopper  I attached all related info screenshots here; I would love expert human advice.

Which ones do you need?

To uninstall a gh plugin first check what you have installed via the package manager, then uninstall from there. If was just a manual drag and drop, then you delete the folder from the user objects or files in the libraries (or move them to a folder else where for later use)

The .dll files go along with one or more of the plugins. You might just want to delete everything and get the latest from the developer in that case, next time put it a folder in the Library folder for easy removal.
