There is a problem now with saving a G2 file…
I have been able to save before this WIP update…
no, I also made a small change to a file which had previously been saved in G2 and the same message came up when I tried to save it. This occurs even if I simply quit rhino and respond to the ‘save’ message from G2.

To be absolutely clear, this broke after a Rhino update, not after a GH2 update? What version of GH2 do you have installed according to the PackageManager?
Please delete all the log files from the diagnostics folder while Rhino is not running:
Start Rhino and GH2 again, make sure logging is set to Verbose:
Save a file, let it fail, and close down GH and Rhino. Then upload the one new log file here:
Thanks. Final question, is the file you saved actually saved on disk, error notwithstanding? I.e. does the error happen during the save operation, or does it happen after?
it won’t save files any more…ie.fails with the red box message…the files saved from before yesterday are saved on disc, yes.
I do not have the same menu as you show so I am not sure where to find diagnostic folder…will search
You must make sure the Grasshopper window has focus before the GH menu becomes the app menu on Mac OS.

I don’t think discourse allows the *.ghlog file format. You’ll have to zip it up to post it.
I’m releasing a new version og GH2 now with slightly more granular logging in the save process. Let’s wait until that’s available and then try again.

New version out now. It has slightly more logging detail in the file writing pipeline, will automatically delete logs which are more than a day old, and date-stamped log files. Hopefully the additional detail will let me narrow this down to which part of the process is failing and isolate failures there. And maybe @curtisw will have some insights as well. He knows a lot more about the inner workings of Max OS than me.
