Hello,
Can you add a button/context menu to open the directory where a plugin is installed by the package manager?
Thanks, jmv
All info regarding installations can be found in pluginmanager, what benefit would it have to add this to packagemanager?
Exact ! But this is only good for Rhino plugins.
Plugins for Grasshopper are missing from the PluginManager.
I’ve had exactly three problems since Yak’s been here.
- Rarely, for reasons unknown to me, there are problems loading, and I have to manually uninstall a plugin.
- Regularly I deactivate a Grasshopper plugin with a “*.no6” file, often in the development phase. Before yak it was easy, there was the menu “File > Special folder >…”
- Often I refer to the “*.gha” library directly in my C# scripts (Clipper, Kangaroo, …). Same here, access is easy with the old method, much less with the new locations.
And personally, I like to know what is saved on my computer. On this point the package manager is too obscure.
jmv
afaik, all packages, including gh are installed in the same directory, so it’s not that obscure.
%appdata%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\packages\7.0
I would opt to eventually integrate pluginmanager and packagemanger into one tool.
Yes, I actually do that.
Adding a button to quickly access the directory doesn’t seem like a very bold request to me.
It sounds good !
I logged this as RH-71876 wish: add link/button to packagemanager that brings you to the installation directory.
