Hey folks,
I know there was some recent discussions regarding autoplay of gifs in this forum. However, I am not able to upload working animated gifs at all anymore. Regardless of what I upload in the gallery - the result is always a 1x1 pixel.
So this size limit does not correspond with the upload limit then? This seems a little complicated to me as there seems to be no way to determine how I should downsize for it to work.
@wim I also tried again with the upload button - same result. I figure it has to do with the limit Daniel mentioned.
I think there is a limit of 4 Mb. There are online tools to reduce the size, with compression, reducing dimensions or number of frames. It should be enough, but if all that doesn’t work for you, try to capture the screen in mp4 by clipping the gif animation and convert it to gif in a clean and optimal way.
Thank you for the hint. It’s no problem for me to downsize/compress/convert but I didn’t know about the 4 Mb size limit. Would be pretty useful if this was written somewhere in the upload dialog. But that’s just my twocents…
My honest opinion: Absolutely none. But videos cannot be displayed as thumbnails in the Gallery unless they are uploaded to YouTube… So basically just a workaround.
