GH2: subcategory expanded panel always aligns to left edge

In Grasshopper 1, when you expand a subcategory panel from the component toolbar (e.g. the Input or Geometric tab), the popup panel uses adaptive/smart positioning: it detects its location relative to the canvas viewport and adjusts the popup’s anchor point to keep the panel fully visible on screen.

In Grasshopper 2, the expanded subcategory panel always anchors to the left edge of the subcategory label, regardless of the panel’s position on screen. This causes the popup to be misaligned or potentially clipped/off-screen when the subcategory is positioned near the right side of the component tab bar.

Behaviour comparison

✓ GH1 — expected

Expanded panel detects its screen position and repositions itself (right-aligned, flipped, or offset) to remain fully visible within the viewport.

✗ GH2 — current bug

Expanded panel always aligns to the left edge of the subcategory button, with no position detection or adjustment logic.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Grasshopper 2 canvas.
  2. In the component tab bar, click on any subcategory tab (e.g. Geometric or Params > Input).
  3. Observe the expanded popup panel — it anchors strictly to the left edge of the subcategory label.
  4. Compare with the same action in Grasshopper 1: the popup positions itself adaptively to stay within the screen.

Hi Seg, Thanks for reporting RH-96574 GH2: subcategory expanded panel always anchors to the left edge of the subcategory label, with no screen-edge detection (popup can clip / go off-screen)
