ggEtabs bake to existing model

Hi all,

Every time I bake the structural model from grasshopper to Etabs, it overwrites all the old stuff and creates a new one. Is there anyway to script it in order to bake to add elements into an existing model? so that I can bake in a few batches for some massive structures.

Woody

Hi Woody,

If you right click on the bake component you can deselect the “New model each bake”.

This may fix your issue, however there might be problems if you use the same components to generate different parts of the model, unless you carefully create your own naming conventions.

If you are still encountering issues, there may be some future advancements we could make that could help this process.

Thank you for the quick reply, Nathan. I’m not quite sure what do you mean by using the same components. Currently my script looks like this

Say I want to bake the floor mesh one by one per a level into the same model again, is this the right way to do?

Hi Woody,

Are you able to provide the script or a portion example for us to provide an appropriate response.

You can send the script to support@geometrygym.com if required.

Cheers
