I have been looking into how Rhino handles network licensing, and I figured I would start a discussion for anyone else dealing with the Zoo.For those who haven’t used it before, the Zoo is basically Rhino’s network license manager. Instead of activating each copy of Rhino individually, you set up one machine on your network as the Zoo server, add your license keys there, and then all other Rhino installations on the network can check out a license when needed. If anyone has tips on configuring the Zoo properly firewall rules, best practices for the server setup, or avoiding connection failures, feel free to share. I am also curious how people manage things when multiple versions of Rhino are installed across a team.Anyone running into issues or have a setup that’s working perfectly? Let’s discuss.
If the Cloud Zoo is good enough for the IT guy at my old job, it’s good enough for anyone, that’s my opinion.
Maybe I’m becoming hyper-sensitive to this stuff, but what we really need a discussion about are these really seemingly AI-generated engagement bait posts. Dude this is the official support forum, anyone having an issue with the Zoo can and will post it here, we don’t need your help to start any discussions. What is the point of this? Is there a spam link coming? This isn’t Reddit an account you’ve farmed a bunch of phoney karma on isn’t worth anything to other scammers.
Hi dhoni4455,
The Lan Zoo is fairly straight forward to setup and deploy. Here is the main page with links to firewall management, troubleshooting and such.
As Jim mentions, feel free to ask questions if you are getting stuck. Dale is the developer and is always happy to help.
