Galapagos Fitness Function refuses List length

Why can’t I plug the galapagos Fitness function to a list length output ?
I want to optimise the number of “Stuff” that some sliders+algorithm generate, which seems a pretty legit use of Galapagos.

OK, my example is lame, but the problem is there.
Even if I add a panel, or an integer component, the fitness won’t plug in.

Aha ! I see that it works if I connect a floating point component.

That makes absolutely no sense to me.

The reason (which is not an excuse) is that the list length output is an integer, not a number parameter. Fitness is always assumed to be a floating point number. Ideally this should have worked, but it doesn’t.
