Further explanation on what's new in VA3

Dear @fsalla,

On this page What's new in VisualARQ 3. Complete list - VisualARQ, under the subtopic ‘Object’ there are multiple bullet points that sound promising and useful, but I do not understand how they work exactly and I can not find more information on it. I have been trying with Rhino 7 and VA3 to figure it out, but can’t replicate the description. Could you please show or describe these functionalities further?

Thank you and best wishes, David

Hi @david25 Excuse the late reply on this request.
I’ll try to describe the bullet points under the “Object” category in the what’s new page, (also in the web later on)

That’s possible with the new vaAddInterferences command.

Interferences Icon 800

That text is unfinished and not precise. It should say something like “New criteria to define the intersection between roofs and slabs”. This criteria is:

  1. Slab and roof layers with the same section attributes hide their intersecting edges, regardless if they are Normal or Core layer types.
  2. Slab or roof Core layers have priority over Normal layers.
  3. Roof layers have priority over slab layers of the same type.

That refers to the list of profile sizes in the styles dialog of some objects (like beams, columns, doors, or windows)

That happens with slabs, walls, stairs and roofs, when they intersect with each other.

That’s how it works now the vaExtractSolids command. Extract Solids | VisualARQ help

That’s pretty much the same point as the first one.

Thank you very much for the answer @fsalla. I like the vaAddInterferences, it seems very useful!
