From trimmed surface to untrimmed surface

Hi @Tom_Newsom,

If you mean this Merge surfaces (trim and untrim) sharing same edge - #10 by Tom_Newsom or Work (isotrim) with a Trimmed Surface in GH - #4 by Tom_Newsom . It works for quite “simple” surface. With this actual complex surface, the tweencurve component in the V direction isn’t outputting good results. So it makes impossible to pull curves back to the original surface.

Also, Fitloft, loft, ruled surface, sweep are all outputting results that are not quite fitting the original surface. see here also FitLoft solution deformation

As it is a trimmed srf, the Isocurve component of cours isn’t outputing something to work with.

The option with more potentiel appears to be to rebuild with network surface. Extract U,V crvs from orginal srf (how?) – pull it back to original srf – Extract edges – and create that netsrf. But this workflow get me errors many times.. Morelikely unrobust..

Here, I’m mainly looking to understand how to work with trimmed surfaces. If any other simple robust workflows, or components are available.

Thanks,

CC
