Friday wish: Duplicate Layer (and Object) - Name active for editing

you might call it a papercut…
And my experience tells me it is a bad moment to post stuff on Friday, back after teaching rhino. So I take bets wether this topic gets more then 5 replies until eastern and is solved until summer holiday…

wish

if we create a new layer, the layer-name is activated for renaming. (great)
if we duplicate a layer (and its objects), the layer-name is inactive and named “layer 01 copy”. (not very intuitive)

My wish:

  • activate the layer-name for renaming after duplicate layer (and objects) as it is a new layer
  • make the auto-rename smarter as already mentioned in the other topic. see below.

One issue that that you can select multiple layers and right-click “Duplicate”. So perhaps we can do the editing thing if you only have a single layer selected.
