FlowAlongSrf for Block Instance

Hi Community,

I want to morph for a any insert, active linked block instance geometry through FlowAlonSrf command. That would be awesome isn’t?

Anybody has a solution?

Should be simple with grasshopper

Yes I guess, but I dont want a any complex way for that and I dont know how I create that kind of scpritting on grasshopper. Its must be one selectable option so thats why I am wrote. Maybe its could be on the next version (I hope)

Ok, then you can create a macro in Rhino

Sorry its not a shortcut or aliases. The problem: a block instance geometry has not morphing on a surface as you see in attached video.

Yeah I think I understand. The block needs to be exploded. All you’re currently ‘morphing’ is the block plane. The macro could be something like first create a copy of an instance, explode it and then morph

Yes and ultimately, I want the origin block instance must not effected when I create and apply in a new rhino file.

  1. I want to go to reference block geometry and editable any time.
  2. When I create a new rhino file and insert this geometry, I can use FlowAlongSrf command and morphing only for this file. Without explode command.

That way happen much automatic many workflow I guess.

nothing happens to the original block if you create a copy

I tried. Its happened same. Except explode. I want to change/edit parametric way but must be simply. Not with gh plug-in

What happened?

You have to explode the block.

My suggestion/wish, all the process can be without explode command. That way will be automaticly.
