Flow or morph with points instead of curves?

I mange to morph surface/mesh/subD with curves.
but how do i do that if I want the too to be a point grid (image B)
The goal is to take any mesh and morph it (ideally Mesh) and without adding geometry (keep original face counts )

You can use Create surfaces from these grids and apply sporph, see below:
