I’m working on a large 3D form with hundreds of flat panels that surround it, effectively making up the shape. Has anyone an idea how I might get these to be laying flat on the ground so I can annotate and set them up on sheets?
Its currently in a 3D autocad? Anyone know a good way of doing this in Rhino or grasshopper?
The first challenge is to align the names with the panels, currently you have 718 panels & 685 name, it looks like you’re missing the soffit panel names.
The second is determine the panel plane. These panels have thickness, are you looking to get the top surface only or actual unfolds? The block origin isn’t particularly helpful in this case.
Thanks so much. I only need one surface. Ill be picking the inside surface for example and flattening that. The thickness and sides of panels doesn’t concern me. I will be cutting the panels out of 12mm mdf so I’ll process the flattened shapes for a CNC.
