Following discussion No V7 in toolbar I created a plugin to solve this problem.
Let me know if you have any problems.

To simplify, I put it on the Yak server.
You can install using the PackageManager command.
To have Rhino versions 6, 7 and 8 on different groups, install it on Rhino 7 and Rhino 8.

Have you tried it under Windows 11? As you can’t separate tabs in Windows 11 at all, I was curious what your plug-in would do in that case.
I’m waiting to install Windows 11 on my platforms, so I haven’t tested
But I couldn’t find any toolbar API changes in Microsoft’s documentation.
I guess it works. If you try to install it I’d be curious if it works…
Don’t have my Windows 11 machine anymore - had to send it back. Hopefully get a new one in a week or so.
