Finding Center After Boring a Hole in a Solid

Rhinos,

In Rhino 8, if I bore a hole in a solid by subtracting a cylinder using Boolean difference, then try to find the center of the created opening in a surface of the solid – nothing happens. If I create a circle from the edge of the opening, then try to find the center of that – nothing happens.

Attached is a drawing with the circle from that process.

My workaround is the create an even number of points on the circle, then draw a line between two opposite points, then place a point in the middle of the line. Not very speedy.

I realize I’m misunderstanding something or making some simple mistake but what?

Not feeling brilliant,

Well your circle isn’t flat so it’s not actually a circle, so if that was all you had you would have to approximately fit one some way.

Since you have the hole geometry, you could get it by extracting an isocurve(extractisocurve) from the inside of the bore, or having made the center point when you made the cylinder before booleaning it.

So obvious. Many thanks, Jim, for taking the time to point me to a simple solution.
