Find a layer using a word in the layer...how?

Hi,
100s of layers, taking ages finding layers, if I have an object on a layer then with 2 steps , select object hammer tool atop layer palette, select object layer, does it but there are times I know the layer and not the object !
I have just made a layer and not added anything to it and need to find it in the palette, amidst 100s of layers.
I know a word in the layer so wish to find the layer using that word.

Filters the layers so that only matching ones are displayed. Turn off the filter to get the full list again.
