Filter gives up

In order to select the polyline, I checked Curves only in the Filter box.
Rhino refuses to let me select the curve.
After several clicks, the Filter is deactivated at all.

Hi Charles -

I only have a picture, no polyline…

Users have repeatedly gotten in the situation where they forgot that a filter was active and don’t understand why nothing can be selected. Because of that, the filter panel will flash when trying to pick something that is not eligible to try to tell the user that the filter is active. If the user proceeds to try to pick something that is not eligible, the filter mode will be disabled.

We are hoping to have better feedback about being in a certain mode at some point in the future.

True, and unfortunately I don’t have the same state of the model anymore.
‘Of course’ it now works as expected…

Next time I’ll provide the file.

Perhaps a colored cursor?
Or a satellite like the + for copy?
A tooltip ‘Filter active’?

The flashing is confusing (to me).

Because of this > Control points and net fully visible when draft angle on - #5 by maje90 and

now selecting control points (or clicking the control net to select couple of points at once) is way more problematic than in 7!

(I still have the feeling noone or few in McNeel are actively working with complex SubDs, adding also the new curvature analysis… The problems I find can be found after 30 second of work… :slightly_frowning_face:)

Please, how to disable forever this function?
I know if my filter is on or off.
Working with control points editing a SubD, with an analisis tool active, you will most surely have SubD selection filtered out (because you want to easily select control points!)

… and then also now it also fully disable the filter, ok.
But leave at least an advanced option to avoid this. There is any?
