Trying to fillet all the edges and everything works except one section. I think there is an extra face or something. Attached are the images and the file. Any help for a newbie (Rhino 8) really appreciated. Thanks!
There is an extra surface in that area, you can Extract the surfaces, but some more repair is needed (I used ReplaceEdge)
After that the shape can be closed again with Cap and Fillets will work.
Start with the largest and end with the smallest. e.g.:
Would you mind detailing those steps a little? I’m not understanding it correctly. Help isn’t helping. I’m not sure where you started. I assume before any edge was filleted.
You are AWESOME! I am still having issues listed below, but even if you stop now, you are still really awesome to have helped this much!!!
I did in this order:
ExtractEdge > deleted the far left
Loft > same edges as you
ExtractEdge > deleted the top and bottom
Select everything > Joined
Cap
FilletEdge > on the crease
FilletEdge > on the vertical seems (worked nice)
FilletEdge > selected top and bottom edges
Result: I made it mad! LOL
Yes Rhino has a hard time filleting edges that have been filleted already with the same radius. So if all edges need to be the same radius you’ll need to fillet them all at the same time.
I was hesitant to reply again since you’ve been so helpful. Didn’t want to over extend my welcome. ;-).
I tried to use different fillet sizes, and also tried to fillet all at the same time, but I still get tusks. But no hurry. I’m not a business, just a person close to retirement and Rhino is my hobby for woodworking and my CNC or new 3D printer. I don’t sell anything, I pretty much give everything away. If you’re bored and want to give more pointers, thank you in advance!
