I have just started learning Rhino. I am wondering how to edit my fillets after I have saved the file? I tried FilletEdge and the edit option, but no luck. Is there a better way to build the surface without fillets so I can edit them later if needed? Or maybe rhino will fix this problem in the upcoming version 8?
Hey @clement, Thanks for the information on the History. I’m wondering if there is another “better” way to build in rhino that wont loose its history or ability to be modified? It just seems silly to me that you would have to rebuild something to change a fillet.
Editing a fillet doesn’t depend on the history setting and works the same way in open files as in files that have been saved and reopened. That said, the fillet editing capabilities are very limited in Rhino. Only the last fillet on an edge can be edited, and only if the object hasn’t been modified. This is not something that will change in the foreseeable future.
It is recommended to leave filleting to the last step in the modeling process. Also, before starting filleting, you could keep a non-filleted version of the geometry as a backup.
If your workflow heavily relies on parametric fillets, you might find that Rhino is not the tool for you.
