I need to export a set of curves to be run through Finite Element Analysis.
(and I do not know which software will be used for the FEA).
I previously exported a DXF, but resulted in a mess of unusable lines
Any advice?
Which filetype / settings are recommended to export curves for FEA?

Hello- can you post an example of the curves you would like to export? That output for dxf seems un-expected…

A set of curves in 3D. (a voronoi structure)
Something like this:

Hello - the idea is to test the export process - I need the curves that you are exporting. If you cannot post an example here, please sent to tech@mcneel.com and please include a link back to this topic in your comments.

Hello - does this file work OK?
vornoi.dxf (415.1 KB)
-Pascal
it seems ok to me.
is DXF the standard filetype for FEA with curves?

Hello- I do not know the answer to that question, but, how did you get the messy results from your test. is more what I’d like to know.

I just realised that I exported without joining first.
