Hi @gankeyu, @mkarimi @wim
Unfortunately, iRhino3D is saving now just as Rhino 8 and 9. Using your newer version, I can convert the saved Rhino8 file to Rhino7, but I’m losing the texture. See the message when I’m trying to open the converted file, the texture in Rhino3D, and the converted file opened in Rhino7.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thank you!
Hi -
Have you tried Dale’s file converter from that same thread? It should also keep the texture.
-wim
I’ve tried, but as I’m not comfortable using Windows terminal and the instructions for use are not clear to me, I didn’t succeed! I’ll try again if some instructions are provided.
Here are is a guide on how to use details about how to use Convert3dm as command line tool on Windows. See more on Food4Rhino here.
Basically, you will need to download it and unzip Convert3dm.exe into the folder where your files are located. Method 1 works because the files are in the same folder as the Convert3dm.exe.
See Method 2 workflow for advanced users who may want to run the utility from any folder. This requires Admin rights and some Windows configuration knowledge.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Fugier

Done according to Method no1. The file is converted to Rhino7 but WITHOUT the texture from iRhino3D - “missing image files”
Attache the file exported in Rhino8 format from iRhino3D. How it looks in iRhin3D you can see in the first post
Cri Stick v01.3dm (5.3 MB)
Hi @PetcuDaniel,
New version of what?
Can you give us step-by-step instructions of what you are doing that is not working? You might also want to post the original 3dm file.
Thanks,
– Dale
BTW, attached is your file (above) saved as a Rhino 7 format file. I used Rhino 8 to convert this.
Cri Stick v01 - Rhino 7.zip (5.2 MB)

I had in mind the new version of iRhino3D that no longer allows saving in Rhino7
The steps are:
-1. scanning in iRhino3D
-2. saving in Rhino8 as it is not possible to save in Rhino 7 (initially it was a problem with saving texture in Rhino 7 but it was solved. See this thread: Display texture on desktop - #12 by mkarimi)
-3. share in Google Drive
-4. use Convert3DM to convert from Rhino8 to Rhino7
-5. opening converted file in Rhino 7 - the message from the attached image is displayed
-6. click ‘Remove’
-7. open the converted file - this is displayed without texture - see post no.1
Please use your Convert3DM and not Rhino8 in order to convert to Rhino7 then open the converted file in Rhino7. This way you’ll see the problem - missing texture! Unfortunately I don’t have Rhino8 and the next upgrade I’ll do to Rhino9.
Initially iRhino3D has allowed saving in Rhino7 and it was Ok!
Thank you!
Hi @PetcuDaniel,
I just used Convert3dm
to convert your Cri Stick v01.3dm
file from Rhino 8 to Rhino7 - worked perfectly.
