I was about to propose the layer state manager and was excited to learn it exists and is already there, I just needed to open my eyes. Thank you for implementing that.
There is one addition that could be handy, there is an empty space next to the “add”, “remove” and “settings” buttons in the bottom bar of the layers panel. I think that would be a great place for a drop down menu with the layer visibility presets.
