Hi everyone,
I tested the connection between shapediver and forma and it works quite nice. But I think this feature is much more useful if the generic geometry created with shapediver in forma is also available in function and metrics settings of forma.
Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of this potential improvement to the Forma integration, but at the moment cannot give a precise timeline for the implementation of this feature, mainly because of the lack of adoption for the ShapeDiver<>Forma integration. If the demand for the deeper integration you are mentioning becomes bigger, we will prioritize this feature accordingly.
Thank you Mathieu. I can totally understand that this workflow is actually a niche and the roi for further developing is quite low. But I would like to make some more arguments for you to consider making this feature happen in the near future. I think one of the most important feature in forma are the metrics for early stage development. The simulations, where the generic shapediver geometry is working, are nice but normally not that essential for feaseablity studies. And if you need them, and you have a special building geometry, you will probably use GH+ladybug and have a customized solution. The interesting idea behind the sd+forma connection is to use a customizable and shareable building library for feaseability studies which makes this workflow very powerfull and easy to handle. At the moment you still need someone who makes the metrics in GH. These are just my 2 cents
