Favorite Design books-

I’m a self professed design book junkie and just got a copy of this beauty from Designstudiopress.com (Scott Robertsons company). It looks great next to my copies of Patlabor 1 and 2 and Cosmic Motors…

Fwiw, John Frye is a Mega talent and if you are not familiar with his work check him out on instagram-

Essentially any Doug Chiang book is great for visual reference, modelling & sketching practice

Oooooo! Good one!!

I’m mainly into things that float. William Gardens books and sketches come to mind, some very neat hand sketches and interesting designs.

Speaking of Doug Chiang…I was a huge Star Wars nerd as a kid (and that hasn’t changed). Somewhere on my shelves I have the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, Weapons and Technology, Planets and Moons, and Characters. (Edit - and Droids)

A book about design and quality ( Goran Popović suggested to me as

“every designer should read.”

) that is challenging to finish but enjoyable to read is:
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values
is a book by American writer and philosopher Robert M. Pirsig

A CLASSIC
This is more old visual art.
The Movie Art of Syd Mead: Visual Futurist
